The AMD Turion II Ultra M620 was a mobile processor with 2 cores, launched in May 2009. It is part of the Turion II Ultra lineup, using the Caspian architecture with Socket S1G3. Thanks to AMD's simultaneous multithreading (SMT) technology, the core-count is effectively doubled, to 4 threads. The Turion II Ultra M620 has 2 MB of L2 cache and operates at 2.5 GHz. AMD is building the Turion II Ultra M620 on a 45 nm production process. The multiplier is unlocked on Turion II Ultra M620, which allows for better overclocking potential. With a TDP of 35 W, the Turion II Ultra M620 is relatively power-efficient for a mobile processor. AMD's processor supports DDR2 memory with a dual-channel interface, with a maximum supported memory speed of 1800 MHz. For communication with other components in the system, Turion II Ultra M620 uses a HyperTransport 3.0 connection. This processor lacks integrated graphics, so a discrete graphics card is required. Hardware virtualization is available on the Turion II Ultra M620, which improves virtual machine performance. The processor also features AMD's PowerNow! technology for dynamic power management and Cool'n'Quiet technology for thermal management.
