The Intel Pentium Gold G5420T was a desktop processor with 2 cores, launched in Q2 2019. It is part of the Pentium Gold lineup, using the Coffee Lake architecture with Socket LGA1151. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 4 threads. Pentium Gold G5420T has 4 MB of L3 cache and operates at 3.2 GHz. Intel is building the Pentium Gold G5420T on a 14 nm++ production process. The multiplier is locked on Pentium Gold G5420T, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 35 W, the Pentium Gold G5420T is energy efficient, making it suitable for small form factor systems. Intel's processor supports DDR4 memory with a dual-channel interface, supporting speeds up to 2400 MHz. ECC memory is not supported on this consumer-grade processor. For communication with other components in the system, Pentium Gold G5420T uses a PCI-Express 3.0 connection. This processor features Intel UHD Graphics 610 integrated graphics, eliminating the need for a discrete graphics card in basic systems. Hardware virtualization is available on the Pentium Gold G5420T, which improves virtual machine performance. The processor supports Intel 64 architecture and various instruction sets including SSE4.1/4.2 and AVX2.
