The Intel Xeon Gold 6151 was a high-performance server/workstation processor with 18 cores, launched in July 2017. It is part of the Xeon Gold lineup, using the Skylake-SP architecture with Socket LGA3647. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading technology, the core-count is effectively doubled, to 36 threads. To further enhance overall system performance, up to four Xeon Gold 6151 CPUs can be configured in a multi-processor (SMP) setup.

The Xeon Gold 6151 features a base clock speed of 3.0 GHz, with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.4 GHz, depending on workload conditions. It includes a substantial 24.75 MB of L3 cache, improving data access efficiency for demanding applications. Intel manufactured the Xeon Gold 6151 on a 14 nm production process, utilizing advanced transistor technology for improved power efficiency and performance.

With a TDP of 205 W, the Xeon Gold 6151 requires robust cooling solutions to maintain optimal operating temperatures. The processor supports DDR4 memory with a six-channel interface, running at speeds up to 2666 MHz, ensuring high bandwidth for memory-intensive workloads. ECC (Error-Correcting Code) memory is supported, which is essential for mission-critical systems to prevent data corruption.

For system communication, the Xeon Gold 6151 utilizes PCI-Express Gen 3, providing high-speed connectivity for peripherals and expansion cards. This processor does not include integrated graphics, so a dedicated graphics card may be necessary for display output.
